Pietro Fantini

Born in Sedegliano (UD) - Italy in 1947, he graduated from the mosaic institute "Istituto d’Arte Musiva" of Spilimbergo (PN). After a two years experience in France, in the field of mosaic, he then came back to Italy, where he joined the graphic industry.
He then resumed his artistic vein in his mature age, especially focusing on the technical, expressive and formal lessons that were left by the neoclassical and rinascimental masters.

concepts, he dedicated himself to a research bearing two goals: the first one within the modern revisitation of the "ancient myth", where "classical" themes and formalism are expressed by means of shocking "anti-classical" shades; and a second path, where the artist has taken into consideration those themes which are bound with the sacred art. Traces of such activity can be found in churches of Friuli and Veneto, two north-eastern regions of Italy; examples of such activity include mosaic, wall decorations (dry) and painting on canvas. His technical skills coupled with his love and respect for the ancient and modern masters pushed him towards paintings reproductions, obtaining great results both from a spiritual and formal point of view.
